About the film

An evening dedicated to film and food, two fantastic films based on Asylum Seekers living in former mining communities. 'The Old Oak' directed by Ken Loach is the story of a community in the North East, 'a film with genuine heart and hope', alongside a film made locally by Abdulrhmaan Hassona based on the Cafe Laziz volunteers and work.

Cafe Laziz will be providing a delicious buffet and there will be a short Q&A session to get to know the amazing people from this new international part of our community.
